An overcast morning in Emerald did not dampen the enthusiasm for cattlemen chasing Simmental genetics on day two of AgGrow.
Simmentals stole the limelight with a average of $7,386 to top at $17,000 with a 96 per cent clearance.
Top price bull Blue Dog Longbeach L031 offered by Jan and Doug Bradshaw, Blue Dog Simmentals, Taroom, found a new home at Tom and Lizzie Baker’s Woonallee Simmentals, Furner, South Australia.
The highly sought-after bull was sired by Woonallee Justified out of a first calf heifer of the Blue Dog Stud and assisted the Simmental average being up $1200 to last year’s results.
The Bradshaw family had a very successful day selling the second top price bull for $13,000 who went to Warren and Sue Wilson, Wilson Grazing, Redbank, Mitchell.
