Tugulawa Simmentals Hits The Mark

The sale complex of Gary and Joy Allen’s Tugulawa Superior Simmental genetic sale at MilLel was full to capacity with repeat and new buyers for their sixth annual bull sale. There was spirited bidding helping to dramatically increase clearance rates, more about sale average and top price. There was 24 bulls offered with 21 sold to a top of $8, this 750 average being $4,421. The top six bulls in the sale averaged $6,375.

Buyers came from the local area, Riverland, West Coast and Victoria. The top bull Webb Uppercut Lot 20 was a spring 2014 drop poll black Simmental knocked down to Wally Balnaves of Balnaves Pastoral, Tarpeena. The bull weighed 770 kilograms with an eye muscle area of 124 square centimetres and a 600 day weight of +38.Tugulawa-17

Lot 15 Tugulawa Konrad was bought by volume buyer Rosebank Pastoral Casterton, Victoria. This outstanding deep bodied well-muscled polled son of Dynamo weighed 814 kilograms. Rosebank Pastoral bought 5 red bulls in total averaging $5,200.

Tugulawa also offered 20 females selling 19 to $5,750 averaging $3,078. The top money went to Tugulawa Jasmin a stylish dark red heifer with 100 percent eye pigment and A.I’d to P.H.S Bank Roll. She was purchased by Inverleigh Simmental Stud Invergordon, Victoria who also bought Lots 36 and 38.

Two outstanding heifers Lot 29 and 31 went to repeat buyer Gary Dempsey of Colac for $4,000 each.

Lot 33 a stylish Dynamo heifer PTIC to P.H.S Bank Roll sold to Tolhverrae Simmental Stud at Padthaway for $4,750.

Tugulawa Stud principal Gary Allen said “It was an outstanding even line of cattle with 44 offered and 40 sold, which made an excellent sale result.
