Visit from Chinese delegates to ABRI

IMG_4600 v2ABRI had the privilege of meeting with and doing a presentation on the history of Simmentals in Australia to delegates from China last week. They were Prof. Fadi Li, website like this College of Pastoral Agriculture Science and Technology Lanzhou University, Prof. Juan Qiao College of Economics and Management, China Agricultural University, Prof. Jianmin Cao, College of Economics and Management, Jilin Agricultural University, Changchun, Prof. Binglong Li, College of Economics and Management, China Agricultural University, Beijing, Dr. Gang Xu, College of Pastoral Agriculture Science and Technology Lanzhou University, Lanzhou.

We export a lot of live traditional Simmental bulls and females to China as you’re probably aware and they can’t get enough of them. They spoke of the increase in the demand for beef and sheep meat, so there’s real potential for our breeders to get on board and export.

At the same time as they were visiting us, we had a five strong delegation visiting Inner Mongolia ourselves. Lily and Dong from Lakeside Simmentals in South Australia showed our delegation around their farm and the bull semen collection centres. Did you know they don’t steer their bulls when growing out for meat? More on this to come.
