e-News Spring Inventory, Breedplan update & more

Update for continuing Breedplan Members

Dear Members

At our recent Simmental AGM, the ASBA Board resolved to investigate the possibility and cost (including associated costs) of the Society providing the limited Breedplan system ABRI has offered to individual members.

The Board undertook this process promptly, and whilst initial negotiations appeared favourable, ABRI has recently advised of changes, which mean we are unable to negotiate a suitable outcome. The Board is disappointed that this is the outcome for members.

Any queries to the Board, please email using this link here Do not hit reply to this email.
The next Board meeting is set for Wednesday 2nd August. Letters to Board need to be sent by COB Thursday, prior to the meeting, to be included in meeting notes.

Spring Inventory Due Date: 31st July
A separate email has been sent to our Spring herds with information on how to process your inventory online. If you have not received that email, please contact Felicity. Those herds who cannot access online need to contact the office for paper forms.

Remember you can always watch a How To video here

FAQ on tattoos:
The latest change to searching where you don’t need the grade to search an animal or the registering of an animal where you don’t put the Grade in, has brought about the question of whether the grade needs to be tattooed in the ear at all.
At this stage, there is NO CHANGE to the Bylaw regarding tattooing your animal. The grade MUST go in the animal’s ear.
If you have feedback you’d like the Board to consider on this subject, then please email as per the contact link above.
