A top price of $40,000 was a highlight of the 2019 third annual Simmental National Show and Sale at Dubbo, when the reserve junior champion bull bred in Victoria, came to Dubbo to be sold to South Australia.

The money-spinner, Mt Ararat Phoenix sold by John Leek, Mt Ararat stud, Nar Nar Goon, Vic, was purchased by Tom and Lizzy Baker for their Woonallee stud, Furner, SA, as the bull’s dam, Woonallee Kathie B111, a donor cow within the Baker’s herd had died, and Mr Baker said they needed to reintroduce the genetics to Woonallee.
