With regard to upcoming sales and shows ARCBA suggests that no special precautions need to be implemented as is the advice to the Ekka. Should a case of FMD be detected in Australia then the whole livestock industry will undergo a “stand still” order so there will be zero movement of livestock until the outbreak is contained by isolation and slaughter of all infected and close contact animals. This would of course prevent any movement of livestock to and from a show or sale.
