The Australian Simmental Breeders Association Board, and Executive Officer, are pleased to provide members with the opportunity to trial the International Genetic Solutions (IGS) genetic evaluation system.
The Board firmly believe that the Simmental Breed offers has a great future in the Australian Cattle Industry. Robust genetic recording is a vital component of that future. The genetic model allows breeders to quantify animal performance and select animals to make performance gains in economically important traits. We strongly encourage breeders to record both phenotypic data, and genomic data to contribute to data recording. The Board would also like to provide the opportunity for commercial members to also submit data.
The link to the CGEN website will be released on Friday 15th July in our e-News. This email is to give you advance information to be able to traverse the site more easily when it is released. Please read all the information sent in this email ahead of the launch.
