Jean and Peter Morton, Goraedowns Simmentals
It is with sad regret to announce the passing of long time Simmental breeder and stalwart Mrs Jean Morton. Jean passed away yesterday 20/11/2018 in Geelong after a long illness. Jean and husband Peter founded Gorae Downs Simmentals in 1987 after seeing the breed at the Geelong Show. She was a strong advocate for the breed, successfully showing at Melbourne and most country shows in Southwest and Central Victoria. She served as the secretary for the Victorian Western Region group for many years and also secretary for Southwest VASA along with involvement on cattle committees at Geelong and Bellarine shows.
